Serax was born in a garage in 1986 and has since grown into a flourishing company. From dinner services to consoles, from designer lights to trendy chairs, all collections Serax are carefully selected to create living spaces that bring happiness.
In order to design its own creations as well as to respond to ephemeral trends, the company Serax works with established designers but also calls upon renowned foreign talents to elaborate collections of a new kind, such as Piet Boon, Sergio Herman, Marie Michielssen, Anita Le Grelle or Antonino Sciortino. Synonymous with excellence in both design and quality, this Belgian brand moves and surprises us, always at the forefront of innovative design, both sensitive and contemporary.
Internationally renowned designer and architect, Paola Navone travels the world on numerous trips in constant search of encounters and inspiration. She regularly collaborates with other architects and designers. Her multiple talents extend to many fields such as the creation of objects, scenography, interior design and furniture design. Her work with Serax is directly born from her insatiable curiosity: discovering that during the Great American Depression in the 1930s, tableware was created according to very precise economic criteria (very large quantities, lower cost), she researched and was inspired by this subject. Thus was born the Fish & Fish service, a contemporary and revisited version, with freshness and poetry, of the mythical original service. This sturdy and stackable tableware is, as in the old days, made of green pressed glass, known as jadeite. A tribute and a nod to history, this collection, aesthetic and imbued with meaning, allows you to put on your table these original pieces, all charged with the spirit of Paola Navone, without losing for a single moment the functionality of this tableware with a history like no other. The Fish & Fish service has its place on any table. Plates, containers and bottles are made of pressed glass and are available in green (Jadeite), white (Milk Glass) or transparent (Depression Glass).
After advertising and interior decoration, it is by vocation thatAnita Le Grelle has taken up sculpture and ceramics, driven by the same enthusiasm for working with clay, which is so dear to her heart.
In this first collaboration, she has achieved Serax a very accomplished work for this table service with unique colours and shapes, made even more remarkable by the subtlety to which her perfect knowledge of the land pushes her. Plates, bowls, goblets, dishes and vases meet and blend together in this very elaborate collection where tones borrowed from nature, stone grey, sky blue, earth red enrich each other with their nuances. Anita Le Grelle's admirable stoneware work, carried by her sense of detail, takes us to the side of the dream, as the name of her collection for Serax.
Sergio Herman was inspired by nature in its raw state, which can be admired in New Zealand, to design the Surface collection. Each of the products features rough textures with beautiful imperfections to produce a unique finish. From the deep grey of the mystical North Sea to wrinkled, aged skin, each surface is a symbol of depth. Every surface of the products in the collection tells a story. The designer used this set of textures to design this beautiful collection by telling his own story and translating his personal experience. Surface is the result of a common vision, shared by the designer and Serax: an enduring belief in the talent and power of collaboration to fuel creativity.
